Global warming is a scam

It has long been my contention that anthropogenic "global warming" or "climate change" is a complete scam, a scare tactic designed to get us to hand over more regulatory power to the government. Further supporting my assertion, it has now come to light, that President Obama's EPA actively suppressed dissenting scientific opinion within the agency, due to the fact that "the administration has decided to move forward... and your comments do not help the legal or policy case for this decision." Thirty-year EPA veteran Alan Carlin was the primary author of the 98-page report, which warned against making hasty "decisions based on a scientific hypothesis that does not appear to explain most of the available data."

Our government is now silencing dissenting scientific opinion, while they continue to claim "scientific consensus" as the rationale for massive regulation and taxation of CO2 and other so-called "greenhouse gases".

Carlin has an undergraduate degree in physics from CalTech and a PhD in economics from MIT. His Web site lists papers about the environment and public policy dating back to 1964, spanning topics from pollution control to environmentally-responsible energy pricing.

After reviewing the scientific literature that the EPA is relying on, Carlin said, he concluded that it was at least three years out of date and did not reflect the latest research. "My personal view is that there is not currently any reason to regulate (carbon dioxide)," he said. "There may be in the future. But global temperatures are roughly where they were in the mid-20th century. They're not going up, and if anything they're going down."

Carlin's report listed a number of recent developments he said the EPA did not consider, including that global temperatures have declined for 11 years; that new research predicts Atlantic hurricanes will be unaffected; that there's "little evidence" that Greenland is shedding ice at expected levels; and that solar radiation has the largest single effect on the earth's temperature.

Further Obama news today: He introduced new "lighting standards" to the nation intended to reduce energy consumption by using all compact fluorescent light bulbs, starting in the White House. Unfortunately for Obama, this "example" was a step taken by President Bush a few years ago, in all White House light fixtures except chandeliers. Just view this as a first step towards Federal regulation of what light bulbs we are allowed to use.

Got to go....running to Wal-Mart to stock up on incandescent bulbs.

"95% will receive a tax-cut"

Obama's tax-cut promise was a tax cut for 95% of Americans. We all knew this was a lie from the beginning, since >40% of Americans didn't pay ANY taxes under Bush, and Obama's proposal didn't include a cut in a single marginal tax rate, for anyone.

Thursday, the House Energy & Commerce Committee passed the initial legislation for "Cap and Trade" laws to limit CO2 emissions. This is the first step in the Democrats' plans to raise taxes on 100% of Americans. Don't be fooled by the term "Cap and Trade". Many economists are calling this "Cap and Tax" for good reason, and the burden of this new TAX will hit poor American households the hardest.

The benefits are minimal too. Even if you accept that CO2 causes global warming (which I do not), estimated benefits to this policy is to prevent warming of 0.2 degrees C over 100 years. Even for the starkest global warming alarmist, the proposed benefit cannot justify the cost. This legislation will be destructive to the US economy and will hurt Americans. It must be stopped.

Global warming scam continues to crumble

Political leaders from across the globe have sold their souls to the climate change hysteria scene, but more and more scientists are coming back to the hard facts. We will look back in 20 years and laugh hysterically at the idea that man was changing weather and putting the Earth in peril with CO2.

Even CNN is jumping off this sinking ship:

Dr. Jay Lehr, an expert on environmental policy, told “Lou Dobbs Tonight” viewers you can detect subtle patterns over recorded history, but that dates back to the 13^th Century.

“If we go back really, in recorded human history, in the 13^th Century, we were probably 7 degrees Fahrenheit warmer than we are now and it was a very prosperous time for mankind,” Lehr said. “If go back to the Revolutionary War 300 years ago, it was very, very cold. We’ve been warming out of that cold spell from the Revolutionary War period and now we’re back into a cooling cycle.”

Lehr suggested the earth is presently entering a cooling cycle – a result of nature, not man.

“The last 10 years have been quite cool,” Lehr continued. “And right now, I think we’re going into cooling rather than warming and that should be a much greater concern for humankind. But, all we can do is adapt. It is the sun that does it, not man.”

Global Warming continues to lose credibility...

...but Obama, Schwartzenegger and others have already drank the Kool-aid. I guess they're in with both feet now.

Global Warming Alarmist Caught Falsifying Data
On Monday, Nasa’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS), which is run by Al Gore’s chief scientific ally, Dr James Hansen, and is one of four bodies responsible for monitoring global temperatures, announced that last month was the hottest October on record.

There was only one problem. It was patently obvious without even measuring the data that it was exceptionally cold around the world in October.

In the US, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration registered 63 local snowfall records and 115 lowest-ever temperatures for the month, and ranked it as only the 70th-warmest October in 114 years.

So what explained the anomaly? GISS’s computerised temperature maps seemed to show readings across a large part of Russia had been up to 10 degrees higher than normal. But when expert readers of the two leading warming-sceptic blogs, Watts Up With That and Climate Audit, began detailed analysis of the GISS data they made an astonishing discovery. The reason for the freak figures was that scores of temperature records from Russia and elsewhere were not based on October readings at all. Figures from the previous month had simply been carried over and repeated two months running.

Obama and Schwartzenegger are still not getting it, planning a two-day "Global Warming Summit". Isn't California broke enough? What a waste of money! Obama is still saying "the science is beyond dispute, and the facts are clear" (see above please). This line alone brings total discredit to anyone who utters it.

Make no mistake, "Cap and trade" means taxes. Hidden taxes at best. "Green jobs" are worthless. They are just new jobs based around fulfilling unfunded government mandates (like hiring new tax collectors and IRS auditors).

Finally, the artice references that California has already adopted many of the proposals Obama wants to implement on a federal level. CALIFORNIA IS BROKE, AND BEGGING FOR A FEDERAL BAILOUT. Good rule of thumb: Good policy should start with doing the opposite of what failed states like California do.
